Bloodroot

I've been to a new (to me) walking trail, and I am just in heaven!

There are hundreds of bloodroots, a plant I have not seen in 45 years!

I love the texture of the leaves, and the colours when the sun shines through them!

The leaves wrap around the blossoms, shielding them from the world.

Bloodroot ARE lovely, aren't they. I love the leaves just as much. Great captures.

I have 2 of these in my garden and they are just poking through the ground.

Absolutely beautiful. That shot with the sun shining through the leaves, the shadows showing darkly ... exquisite!

Very neat. I love the second last shot, where the leaves are cuddling around the flower. I don't think I saw that one the other night
