Shadows in the Snow

One of the things I like about sunny winter days
 is the shadows that appear on the snow. I don't know what sort of a weed this is,
 but the last two are Queen Anne's lace.

Lovely photos. That first one looks like columbine to me. Queen Anne's lace is one of my favorites.

I have been browsing around your page, and this entry struck me. One of my favorite authors...Jacqueline Carey is gracious enough to have a facebook page. She recently made reference to walking in the blue shadows. It's so true.

I think one of the most amazing things about winter is that when it snows, even the darkest night is bright. The snow makes a hush over the whole world.
